If budget permitted, why don't buy both of them?
Depite of similar chassis, they have totally different looking.
I've got two re-Hot Shot, and one original.
Later on, I'm going to buy my third Hot Shot and two Boomerang.
If you use Tamiya 101BK, you must use a receiver with BEC or use an external BEC. The output of the red plug in 101BK is directly connected to the 7.2V supply.
If you connect the red plug to a receiver without BEC, it still works but at an operating voltage higher than the designed 6V (in fact, at 7.2V).
As such, the response of the steering servo is very fast (even it is 3003). However, no one know when the receiver or servo will be damaged.That's why TOWER 話101BK ESC 要用BEC RX
