回復 4# 消防船
Hi all, try to share this with you but please excuse me that I can't write in Chinese.
Single propeller
if you look at the wheeling effect as illustrated in the middle diagrame. a right hand propeller when going ahead (turning clockwise) will move the stern to starboard, (i.e. right hand side). and if the prop. goes astern (anti-clockwise), it moves the stern to port (i.e. left hand side) this will make the bow move to starboard (right). most ship fitted with single propeller will be like this when going astern. Try it out with your boat.
Twin propellers
From this, you could imagine that for a ship fitted with twin outward turning propellers and operated onlt one engine ahead, says port engine, port engine only will turn the bow to starboard, wheeling effect (transvese thrust) on this anti-clockwise turning propeller will also move the bow to starboard, i.e. the turning effect is stronger. |
