I remember "keyence" (Japan) produced a 1/72 proportional Radio Control Car about 10 years ago. It cost about $6XX at that time.  鬼佬 are not as smart as you thought.

not diy. It was called Madtune. Here is a picture. (left) Everyone could buy it at that time but it was too expensive for me.
