Should weight distribution be checked with body shell installed?

Usually I will check both.

1) First will check the weight without body shell in general. My style MM usually between 49/51 to 47/53.
2) Then weight with body shell for minor weight adjustment. Using different body shell MAY/MAY NOT need to have minor adjustment.
