Most of the brushless ESC is pretty large. My HW 120A is forcing the car body out a lot !!!

LRP SXX is installed with cooling fan作者: vwsl 時間: 2009-8-20 08:47
I'm using Hobbywing ESC and brushless motor (3000V...not sure). I haven't try it yet as I just finished the car and hope to try it this weekend.
Is majority using brushless motor or traditional one? Which one is better for F-1?
My consideration is less motor maintenance only.
i start with brushed ESC, GM V12, with fan black pig, stock gear ratio.
Now want it to be faster, with 3300kv.
the hobbywing ESC is too large, may be it will be better if i don't use "round side part" on the card body.
I installed the ESC upright with the two caps stick on the upper side and the size is quite fit and still some room left.
By the way, is the brushless motor faster than traditional one? How does the 3300kV defined? How to compare with turns of motor? Sorry...so many questions...
cannot wor, my Hobbywing 120A is quite large, i have try all the possible position. Unless the cooling is removed. Are u using 35A?
To answer your questions:
- Is the brushless motor faster than traditional one? Not necessary, depends on your motor turns. But in theory BL motor should be more efficient, as no friction with motor brushed.
- 3300kv should be similiar to 11.5T. A guy from the shop told me, they have tested, 11.5T is similiar as 3500Kv. I choose 3300kv simply because it is $100 cheaper than 11.5T for TeamPower as example. And i am not going to join any race, just for fun.
I've checked mine is 60A...what is the different? More powerful?
Besides, I just finished the body and the found that the smooth side pod is tighter than the original one. I've installed the ESC horizontally (fan facing upward) now...little bit tight but okay...the fan does not tough with the body.
Really want to try it on track...will you go to play car this weekend?

60A 120A same external size. 120A can just allow higher limit on motor.
