is better than LIPO cells?

I tried both ... Lipo has better punch than A123.

I think this feeling is mainly due to the different in their norminial voltage, LiPo is 7.4 and A124 (LiFe) is 6.6 only.

how much is the LIPO battery now ?

I compared A123 + 5.5R vs Lipo + 7.5R, A123 still feels a little 'soft'.  Maybe the lipo has 35C+ discharge, A123 has only 30C discharge.  The main advantage of A123 is it can charge at a very high current and its very safe.

gwinanthony1985: How much is Lipo?
Depends on mAh, brand and C...   it can be from $200 to $600

Hi ching
When you said the C is larger, does it mean the battery can get fully charged faster?

Also if i buy a new r/c car at KWS, will i get discount on batteries? Thanks!

C is larger means the battery can discharge at a higher rate.  It is NOT the same as charging.  I usually charge at the mAh rating.  For eg: 5000mAh, charge at 5A,  3500mAh, charge at 3.5A.

discount?... depends how good a talker you are to the store keeper.

what motor are you going to be running?  ie how many turns?

Just a supplement. Charging the battery at the specified mAh rating means you are charing the battery at 1C.  e.g. charge a 5000mAh battery at 5A.

A higher C rating means the battery is capable to discharge at a higher current without demaging

but what is the point of getting the battery discharged at a higher rate??

That means higher power (=voltage x current)

Oh you are talking about discharging when the r/c car is playing with the battery??

haha sorry you said discharging the battery at the charger.

sorry i am new ^^'' Thanks a lot for that !!
