I did it successfully with my Mini-Z, not sure if there is any difference in 1 / 10作者: ryancmlam 時間: 2010-8-8 12:32
As far as I know, the answer is yes作者: nel3838 時間: 2010-8-8 14:42
of course laaaa . . . . miniz , big z, the remote is the same . . ..
so my current idea is to use a 2nd hand LRP Sphere TC and a 4.5t sensored brushless motor on my F104. I know it will be toooooooo fast if I use the ESC and motor at 100%. My plan is to set the throttle hipoint lower to slow down it to a manageable speed.
Is there any bad thing about this setup? will the throttle response be less linear? will the lifespan of the ESC / motor be affected?
Price is not a concern because the ESC and motor are 2nd hand.
The torque/power between slower and faster motor is different. Higher turn motors (13.5 or 10.5) has less torque or acceleration out of a corner, while lower turn motors (5.5 or 4.5) is very powerful throughout the whole rpm range.
The top speed you can control using hi-point of your remote, but the power of the motor, you cannot.
back to your question: assuming with 7.4v with a f104, DO NOT use 4.5t. you will NEVER need that much power for a f104. i suggest at most a 8.5t/10.5t. (most people use 13.5 or 17.5)作者: FatboyHK 時間: 2010-8-9 10:49
can I use gear ratio to lower the torque? The top speed will be even higher but again I can reduce it using hipoint adjustment.
You can use gearing to lower the torque, but it only affects just a little bit. The motor will get hotter because the motor need to work harder with a larger pinion.
Other than F104, are you going to play something else?
yes, i plan to buy a touring car soon. Now I see the issue, let me try, if really not ok I can just buy a weaker motor.
on the other hand, the ESC is also quite powerful. Can I still use it on F104?
You will have a very hard time playing F1 with a 4.5T. For most 2WD/RWD cars, too much motor power will be extremely hard to control. A 4.5T motor is already very fast for touring cars.
if the esc fits in the chassis and under the body, you can use tc spec in a F1.
