標題: 點解燒電變??
各位師兄 : 我用NOVAK GTB + 4R冇刷motor + 6.6V A123電玩4WD Touring car 在JV.
玩玩吓燒了電變 , 點解 ? 我的motor無裝任何散熱 , 是否這原因 ?

我玩緊的是京商TF4 , 所以很難在motor位置加裝风扇 !

I played GTB with Novak 4.5R motor and lipo battery in my BD5 before.... then it burnt! I mean it caught fire. I finally burnt of a body, upper deck, and a receiver. Now playing SP and happy with the performance and reliability

The original GTB fan is weak, it needs to change a stronger one. Also, install a fan on the motor would help a lot in summer. I use my GTB for a long time but I don't have any problem like burning or too hot, even I use it with Team Powers 4.5R for a long time. The gear ratio might be the other factor that you burnt the GTB.

GTB原裝散熱扇唔夠勁一定要換，同埋齒比搭得唔都會燒電變！

Also you are using 6.6v, so when the voltage is lowered, the current drawn will be higher; thus more heat generated on your ESC. So you have to be extra careful with gearing.
(ie low voltage pushing a high power motor is very dangerous to the ESC)

I also tried burnt one Novak ESC with purple smoke come out.

I also heard too too much about burnt on Novak ESC, sure more than any other brand even hobbywing. I have no comment on burnt of hobbywing ESC as it is cheap, u can't have too high expectations, but Novak, well.....

Just sharing

"一般情況" means under general usage.  not overheat, not overgear, normal motor and ESC tempearature.

"一定會燒" was our personal experience, All my friends using Novak (over 10) have their product burnt eventualy,  some sooner(after 2 pack of battery ) and some some later (over years)

I was  lucky as  i used an XBR 10.5R set before.  used for over 1 year with no problem. but finaly it still burnt, but not in racing situation. it burn suddenly when iam prepapring it to play at the pit. no wrong polarity, everything well connected and function normaly.  but it burnt with smoke comes out in front of my eye suddenly, on the table.

Thatz just my experience to share.

my case also simple, just plug the battery, not yet turn on the ESC, purple smoke come out....thats all.
