標題: The day has finally come.....
Hi all, I want to share a story of myself.....

The year was 1984. I was 8 years old at that time. My father was a merchant working in a office in Dudas Street (next to KWS). Since he is such a hard working person, once a while he would go to the office on Sunday mornings and he always bring me along. He had a car, (if I remember right it was a Silver Volvo 244...). and of course, s a kid, I was sitting at the back seat looking out the window.....

Like all kids, I was wondering around and look for anything that's attractive to me. And everytime we drove by Yao Ma Day Cinema, there was a model shop next to it. One year, I notice that shop has a poster up front and that was the moment I immidate fall in love with that poster. It was a white Jeep (I didn't know what model it was..) I asked my father to get it for me but.... NO! He wouldn't let me. It was too expensive at that time... I cried a couple times but of course --- helpless..... So I gave up.

BUT! A week ago, I found my old friend! After all these years! The dream of the dream. With the help of Ebay US, I finally locate this piece of art. And the best part is, IT'S NIB!!!! Just as it came out in 1984. She is in Sunshine State California! And now, I am 30. I can finally get a chance to own it by myself! And ladies and gentleman, 1984 Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero! NIB! Has finally fall into my hand! Enjoy the photos!

Well, don't be so sure about that.... I just need someone who's expert on paint and finish the body for me cuz honestly my paint skills aren't that good..... But stay put!

in those years......i also have a story about this parjero.....the story also started at the shop in yau ma tei.....

in 198x, my uncle,my cousin & i visited the shop in yau ma tei u mentioned b4.......my cousin and i were sticked to the display window to see this parjero........then......my uncle bought it.......i remember it costed HK$190........my uncle is used to be a RC fans....he said the parjero is bought for himself.....but we (my cousin and i) could join the assembly process.......though it's not ours.....we were also extremely happy!!!!
my uncle painted it in pink and made things all ready.....then he put it on the shelf for over two to three weeks.....didn't play it...
as a child...my cousin and i really wanted to play it but.........no way....it's not ours!!!!!
a bit later...one friday my cousin called me.....asked me to join him.....to play the parjero in the coming sunday!!!!
my uncle is so kind that he just wait for the day ,his son (my cousin) is good & smart enough to take over this gift(even though i dun no why!!??)....my cousin and i had a very good holiday with this jeep!!it's so great!! it could run in wheelie.....it's fun!!!
the story is not yet ended.....
around 13-14 years ago.....my cousin met this parjero again.....deadstock NIB........he bought it at once.....continue the childish dream.......
as i know...that parjero was still in his house even it's not very good in condition......
he said he wanna give it to me for rebuild and let me keep it for a longer time.......
so.....i'm planning to get the parts for it....

I promise I am going to build this and actually PLAY IT!! (Well, in a extremely careful way of course...) and will keep you all posted!

I have a question for the paint experts, should I paint the cover in white first before I add the decals? How do you avoid it to turn yellow after displaying? I was thinking to paint the cover in white, then add the decals, and then paint with clear coat. Is that the best way for this cover? Please advise!

I cannot believe we saw the same thing! HA! So are you saying you have one painted in pink and another one NIB?
I think it shares a lot of parts from the Wild Willy. Perhaps you can get a Wild Willy 2 just for parts!

I m no expert, here's how I do.
Spray the body with several layers of thin paint (make sure it's dried b4 sprayiing a new layer, no rush here) then apply the decals and finally protect it with another several layers of clear coat.

actaully the first one painted in pink was total loss at 198x.......
the second one was owned by my cousin and already built by himself in 199x......but he still keep it....i planned to take over the 199x one from my cousin side and rebuild it.....maybe will find the nib body from ebay for it .....actually is it use the same gearbox with the hornet or lunchbox????....i think it's not the same with wild willy....absolutely not the wild willy 1's one....because i've got one WW1....the wild willy 2....seem like a new chassis...it's totally different with WW1......
mike, it should be wonderful if u can take a photo for the manual in the gearbox part and posted...hehe!!!

in those ages...all boys just like u and me will not have enough money to buy one more set for keep....even have money....would buy one more for play la.......

I think the gears are the same as hornet. I am not sure if they are the same as WW one/two since I never owned one but I was told from Hing Kee that one time and they said about a year ago, the pajero's cover was released for a very short amount of time for those people who want to transfer their WWs to Pajeros... so I assume both are the same...But I like I said I don't have the WWs so I can't varify that..... but now you said they aren't so..... I guess they AREN'T the same......

trust yourself but not hing kee.....
they are really a expericenced hobby shop.....but in my point of veiw.....they're not expert in RC field....as i know... limited edition willy wheeler (honda city) body was released in around 2 years ago....fit for the WW2 chassis...but the pajero for WW2 body......not yet heard....anyway, thanks for your help!i will PM u later!

WW1 and WW2 are different kind of beasts, WW2 is completely re-designed and it's a derivative of the TL01 chassis, some of the WW2 parts are inter-changable with TL01.
Yes, tamiya japan page did publish a page to guide people to convert a WW2 into willy's wheeler, not sure about pajero conversion though.

as i know...the gear box.....suspension arms may the same.....but the chassis we also call "bathing tub" and damper(just spring coil actually!!) seem difference!!

Well, since the NIB Pajero is so nice I don't dare to put it together.. SO! with the help of ebay (AGAIN!) I got this baby from Austria! And she arrived just as descriped........... This one is for play!!! When are we having a Pajero Party???

Almost.. but there is some little things that I don't like it about..... but it's ok... still "playful"....

I am not rich la! For some reason everyone thinks all "vintage collectors" are rich...

We should come out for a vintage party... I recently found a decent place for playing CC01 and or any light offroad vintages..............

I am thinking the same place we play offroad in Tsang Kwan O last weekend... the land is flat but it has a little graval... it's good for some high speed, not too much damage offroad playing.... of course no GP truggies will be around la...

Found it by chance ja... but after then there weren't any decent 58044 pajeros for sale. So I guess Mike is destined to own this little gem.

Guys! This is my next target. Now this is really my first ever RC car in my life..... Happens to be a Pajero as well...

I remember all my friends were playing Tamiya Lancia Deltas, E30 M3s and Benz 190E Evolutions, and I am the only one play Kyosho cars..... But even though the Kyosho's are 1:10, but it still slightly bigger than them. I remember at the same time with the same chassis, there was R32 GTR and Toyota Celica availiable.
I still have the box, some loose parts and the cover (which is REALLY beat up) but I would LOVE to find my first "love" again.....

If anyone see them anywhere around the world, please please please let me know right away!!! I'll pay big dollars for the seller AND the one who gives me the link/connection...

The place is too rough for my old Tamiya. And I need some more time to prepare my car for running. I have a suggestion, how about the seafront park beside Maritime Square (Tsing Yi).

Because of you touching "essay", I spend more than half hour of my life to find it out from the closets and another half hour to take some pictures and loaded into the PC. Luckily the light blubs still work.

The pictures and the associated early 90's RC accessories are attached. As you can see, a lot of wounds....

Perhaps you should consider having it restored? Check out my post on restoring my Pajero or the MU (Which was a super hard project...) and leave it as display or "slow play" la!
I am trying to arrange a meet for all CC01/vintage playday but seems the response isn't as good as I thought.......

Your Pajero looks really good... everything is completed and restorable...!

suprising no they haven't, but nowadays they only make 1/18th electronics, heres the website for you to check out: http://www.teamtekin.com/

As for the bigfoot, it depends on what you want to drive it on

As for big footers, tell me, how much you want to spend and what type of offroading you'll like to play? Slow climb? Foot ball match? Or high speed bashing... That would be a way to start...

Regarding the big footer, I intend to buy a 4WD. However, I find that the only available product in the market is the tamiya TXT, TLT1, twin detonator and the blaster etc.. Honestly, I don't want a hugh one so I TXT is not my cup of tea. TLT1 may be suitable for me.

In addition, I Lunch Box is also so funny but it is a 2WD.

Hmmmm....  the TLT huh........  Well, just my opinion, I think you rather go with a TXT then TLT because if you play TLT type of 4x4, you are not looking for speed bashing but slow climb.  TLT is good but in order to make it to become a "ultimate climb machine", you need to add on a lot of modification parts from overseas companies such as this one from Korea (www.craftlab.net)
Neither the TLT, TXT or even the Clod Buster is good for climb right out from the box......
Ever consider the Tamiya Hummer or Tamiya VW Touareg?  OR if you want to spend the dough, wait for the F350 which should release within the next few months now..... That's the best 4x4......
