Hi Bros,
Tiger I,
Should be powered by electric motors, gasoline engine on rc tank isn't very practical and realistic...
Woo, it seems using the same type of brake /turn mechanism of the real tank...
Thanks for all the brothers' comments and kind words.
First of all, I am not a Singaporean. I am a true blue 100% Hong Kong boy. I grew up in HK and was educated in HK, I left HK very soon after I finished my education in order to make a living somewhere overseas. I was holding the bags at the back of the fourth photo
I got this Tiger from a California collector near the end of 2002. This guy is single and he lives in San Francisco. He has at least 10+ of 1/10 tanks. This collector can actually cast metal parts and machine them at his home!!! He started off this hobby in the 70s and he used to buy a few of them at a time, sell some to make $$ to finance his rc tank hobby. His collection includes some of the very rare and complicated European made model tanks with shiftable gearboxes. His collections are all METAL, no compromise.
This Tiger was made by Seki. You can see the name in Chinese word (Kwan) in the second photo lower right corner. This shop had a long story.
It should be powered by 40 class or above 2 strokes or 4 strokes engines. But I think I will use electric, cheaper and cleaner

This company, Seki closed down in the late 80s due to $$ problems.
Seki was a machine shop, they made Tiger for fun and as a side business, a few versions were made: single engine (40 class), twin engines, electric, single speed gearbox and two speed gearbox. They also used to make a sdkfz half track in 1/8 or 1/6 scale, no so detailed and not so pretty, IMHO.
Seki went into $$ trouble in late 80s when the economy collapse in Japan. The boss went on to make illegal firearms. Police found out, he went to jail and the business folded.
I understand that this Tiger 1 was built between mid 70s to late 80s. This particular one should be from the early 80s batch. That is why my user name is tiger1

Of course I have to thank chiuchiu for visiting me in Singapore and brought me:
(1) a NIB Tomy Intruder,
(2) a NIB Tomy celica,
(3) a newly assemble Tomy Pulsar,
(4) a lot of good fun and RC stories and
(5) a new friendship, PRICELESS!!
Is that a late production type Tiger? Looks brilliant !!!!!!!!!!!
This is a late production tiger. You are correct!!
A magnificant piece of engineering!!! Sadly it's a bit too small for me now, if not I would've bought it and have it as part of my collection!!
size does not matter
But then once u've seen bigger tanks then you will appreciate they're much closer to the real thing than 1/10 or smaller, and they behave in very similar ways too

there is one from Sankyo for sell in Yahoo Hong Kong now :
Except it is metal, it's outlook does not look real....even worst than some PRC RC tanks作者: tiger1 時間: 2008-7-14 07:51
The sankyo Type 74 and King Tiger have been around for more than 30 years and nothing has changed. Their gearboxes are known to be strong but their look is elementary to say the least....
Type 74 being a little better. it may be improved by some minor modifications. The King tiger will need extremely extreme makeover to make it look semi-decent.
WOW.... ALL METAL!
How long and how heavy is it?
Just wonder, Sankyo should have closed down their business many years ago. Why these tanks suddenly reapear in the market?
These tanks have been around for sale at least between 1996 to now. Of course, they were also available before that.
