Check whether the engine and the engine mount are installed securely. Check the brake linkage. If your brake linkage is set such that the engine will be pushed backward when brake is applied, gears may strip due to improper meshing.
Check the bearings of the 2 speed housing and the 3 small clutch bearings and lubricate the thrust bearing.
