Hold on David C hing, this ratio seems to be too safe, the car will be slow and motor over rev
84 / 17 * 1.9 = 9.38 (FDR)
84 / 19 * 1.9 = 8.4
For your reference, my T2 or T3 with 4.5R, running at FDR 8.1, motor is not too hot.
Changed to FDR 7.75, motor start to be little hotter at TRC, still have room to over.
So 5.5R, i suggest u start to try from FDR 7.5, that is around 21 摩打齒
U have to try yourself with reference to - motor temp, running time, pick up speed and top speed until it is happy for u
interesing point to share with u:
"The power capability for the ESC and motors during our development tended to be well beyond what most users would ever dream up for realistically driveable gearing options. The only real upper limit to gearing is the temperature of the motor. As long as the motor is less than 200 degrees F (would burn your finger almost instantly) at the end of the run, you’re OK.
"
yeah, right, that's why when we run the same car, same setting, same day, same 8 mins run, everything same, on EP and GP track (TRC), surprisingly, on GP track the motor temp is much lower. May be because of large and wide track, less break used. Higher speed, more airflow to cool down, and more full throttle. But softer driving skill when the track layout is new to me.
