WHY are tamiya re-releasing their old cars....Vintage doesn't mean VINTAGE anymore

vintage is still vintage, re-release will not affect the actual value of a vintage.

it will affect the value of the original subaru Brat for sure

Well, that's the reason I don't like collecting Tamiya though the brand gives me much sweetest and fantastic memories... my first ever-bought RC car is Tamiya Brat (while I also owned a Associated 12).... in 198x. These few years, I've been feeling both happy and sad about the mass scale re-release of vintage cars. It's really unwise to collect Old Tamiyas as .... no matter how old the first version of a car is.... more and more collectors get the re-released ones which are more or less the same.... Just sharing.

totally agree, actually I am not a tamiya vintage crazy, but the more of tamiya re-release, it breaks all the fans heart!!

i actually think it is a good thing.  It makes people who want to relive their childhood memories more accessible.  To pay a few hundred dollars for a grasshopper just doesnt make sense...  The more re-release the better.  This way,  we can try out the rc that we didnt get to play with when we were kids without feeling the need to break the bank to do it...

100% agree

I agree with qvpower too, because
1. you can buy a re-released R/C from tamiya but tamiya can not re-release your good time with your old R/C and also I dont think you have the same feeling with your 1st R/C and the re-released item.
2. Re-released items can help us to restore our broken old R/C cars.
3. I dont think R/C hobby is a good investment; how can you part with your beloved R/C model for a few thousand $$.
