The basic idea for the car is, since the geometry of the XX-4 are so good, but the drag on the drive train for 3 belts is always there, so X-factory figure if they can combine the single belt XXX-4 but with the handling of the XX-4, then it will be perfect, that's how the X-5 was born.
The only thing you gonna keep for the XX-4 is the complete front end and rear end..
The diff gear are all new and coming from the X-5 kit..
The new X-5 square you see here actually use a white derlin like material to make up all the diff cover and belt cover, to create that prototype look...
The X-5 utilize the slipper design of the XXX-4, which in my opinion are not as good as the XX-4 design, however, due to the space avaliable, it may be the only option. It does use the method of XX-4 to adjust how tight the slipper will be which is a much better method then on the original XXX-4
brother Joho
Because I also want to upgrade my Losi XX4.
,may I ask u how much this kit plus shipping ?
I will say the price will be what they advitse in their website with free shipping if you want...I am going to race it on saturday in Thailand, then I will have a report here, you can decide later whether you really want it or not. Up till now, I am actually 100% satisfy with my XX-4WE...the best ep buggy I ever try...
You will need abit of dremel and hand fitting of this kit, so I guess I will not recommend this for beginners..
Here you can see the spur on the X-5 already, getting there...
In this photo you can see the adjuster for the belt. The X-5 square make a big improvement here by adjusting the pulley angle so the belt will not slip as much as the first generation X-5, although belt slipping will still happen and completely normal..
