I want to replace the wires on my LRP esc. I am using a 80w goot solder iron from Ap Liu Street but it is not easy to take the wires out. Does any c-hing have good recommendations on which solder iron to use to replace wires? I try to find some flat head iron but can't find something nice.
Thanks c-hing. I think one of the problem is the solder iron is using those pencil like tips. I think those with a large flat surface is easier to use.
Lung1, what is 恆溫? How can I tell if my solder iron is 恆溫? Thanks.
An 80W Goot iron even with a pointed tip is more than enough to do the job. In fact be careful with it when using next to electronic components, you will have those melting off the board before you know it. I normally use a 60W goot iron for normal work and 100W flat tip for soldering batteries only.
Clean the tip when it is hot with a damn sponge. Melt a little new solder onto the cleaned tip to "tin" it. Then apply on the joint, works every time. If you put a dirty iron to the joint, you will not get anywhere.......
