shaft car advantage = smooth transmission of power
shaft car disadvantage = too smooth in cornering entry and the car will roll while acceleration
now the pro belt car can be as smooth as shaft car...has belt tension to make ease for cornering without obvious chassis rolling while acceleration....For high power motor, its power is sufficient to ignore this little power loss due to belt tension....therefore, most pro cars are using belt now...
for 23T, there are some people still using shaft car because its better acceleration and smooth transimssion...but to be honest, those shaft car using 23T wont be better than thos pro belt car too much...
Again, many people are using brushless motor now. If 3.5/2.5 motor is using, sometimes the gear ratio shall be over 1:10. For shaft car, it is very difficult to over 1:10 in gear ratio. |
