I am considering to join the 1/8 on road racing. i would like to know the engine life.
Under normal break in process, and run without over lean, what is the normal engine life before I need to replace any internal parts like piston, cylinder sleeve, link rod and crankshaft? How many litre of fuel it can run?
Is that a .21 engine is more durable than .12 engine (due to lower rpm)?
Life time is really depends....you better have someone help to break-in and tune it up for you..if you new to play GP...otherwise have no fun and waste money.....
Under normal use, 21 and 12 is almost same life expectancy.
May be 21 is little longer at the Peak performance mainly because most push the .12 much harder.
For 21, the clutch setup is much more important. Better ask some "high hand" at the track for help if you are new on 21.
Of course, use Nitro X will give you very long life to your engine...hehe
I got a .21 rg-x engine , i ran about 2 gallons + of fuel already , i always abuse the engine , the engine still pretty strong , I think it depends on how do you run the engine , my other rc had the .15 cv-rx , I ran about 3 gallons and I put drift tires in , so the engine always running in high rpm range , it still very easy to start up ,no problem at all
