This one is very good enough for playing any kind of car. You also could plug in the Spektrum 2.4G module and make it more perfect.

EX-5 does have enough funtions for playing. Take a look of below links and you could compare those transmitters:

EX-5

EX-1 Mars R

EX-10 Helios

That's what I thought, but don't think Spektrum has module for this older EX1 Mars

Spektrum module (for KO) could be used on EX-10, EX-1 Mars R and EX-1 Mars.
