I see, thanks! After seeing your message I googled a bit and found the same. Because Lipos are lighter, there is less momentum to provide natural damping. With side shock, they started using thicker and thicker "oil" (grease). But as the grease gets thicker, there is no more flowing inside the side shock. So tube becomes the answer as thicker grease can be used and there can be more damping given tubes can be mounted further away (i.e. higher) from the pivot point.
