For bashing around, (sand, basketball court, parks, parking lots) 1/10 should do the job, and also earlier to carry around.(~1.7kg vs 3.5kg, 300g battery vs 600g)
Speed isn't actually much difference, say ranging from 60km/hr to 80km/hr, and similar running time.
1/8 is more durable if you are doing some big jump, (10ft) but 1/10 isn't bad, unless you love to smash around.
I kind of like 1/10 more, more nimble and responsive, but to play at Dirt Bike track here, even 1/8 buggy is a bit small, need Truggy or 1/5, so I am sticked with 1/8.
1/8 is much more powerful, not that safe for bashing around in HK. |
