for T plug, you have to scratch the soldering surface first in order to the solder stick to it
for banana plug, I melt some solder into the plug first. than use the soldering iron to touch the outside of the banana plug so to heat the solder inside together with the banana plug. since there are a lot of thing being heated, the heat capacity is large and the temperature is kept high for a longer time. When your soldering iron is touching the banana plug and you see the solder inside is melted, put in the wire. After the wire is in place, remove the soldering iron and wait for the solder to cool (I use mouth to blow so to make it cool quicker). after the solder cools down, the wire must be tightly soldered.
better to use a higher watt soldering iron because you have to heat up a lot of things.
This method is easy to success but uses more solder. It might not be the most beautiful soldering method but it is easy to success. |
