It looks like a nice entry level car from HPI.  As said in other posts, one can spend 1000 - 10000 on a car depending on budget and time.  Looking at the spec, looks like there can be a number of things can be upgraded once basic driving is done, for example, metallic shocks, brushless motor/esc, differentials etc.
