LIPO BATTERY 好 ANNOYING ~!!!!

my battery inflates

someone told me not to play more than 10 mins at once...that's so annoying!

how can we not over-use it?

some esc hv lipo cut off function ( but not 100% accurate)
the best way is to check the voltage every 3-5 mins, and u can find out how long u can play.

new technology needs need management method...
lipo needs esc to auto cut off, and/or use a simple battery monitor onboard.

What speed of motor are you using?

Fast motors, play 6-8 mins
Med motors, play 10 mins
Slow motors, play 12-15 mins
Black Pig, 20 mins

Another option you can consider is to use LiFe (or A123) batteries.

check once only~
u can find out how long yr lipo can play ma~

buy a lipo voltage checker, it can shows how many V each cell left~
not lower than 3.2V each cell is ok

are you playing 1/8 scale?  since you mentioned 14.8v and 2000kv motors.

if you are, you should look into buying a high 'c' value battery, at least 30C.

1/8 scale system uses a lot more current than 1/10 system.  if you want to use 14.8v, try getting 2 packs of 7.4v instead of 1 pack of 14.8v. (try to get brand names ones, like IP or SE etc...)

With Lipo, dont over play the car is the only way to prevent inflating.

As mentioned before, you can try 2 x LiFe (2 x 6.6v=13.2v).  You do not have to worry too much about over-discharging LiFe packs as they are safer and has less maintenance than Lipo.  I find LiFe is a very good choice for offroad applications.

What is the Lipo Battery brand?  I have been using Team Orion, no issue at all.  Does your ESC have lipo-cutoff function?

1. 6.6v LiFe packs varies from $200 to $300 depending on capacity.  
2. If inflated just a little, its ok to use, but at your own risk. however, it is better to throw it away.
