Kyosho NEO Buggy - KE25 Engine Broken

My connection rod of KE25 broken months a ago after an hard landing with high speed/free spinning in a crash!Managed to buy the spare parts but lack of tool to remove the connection rod from the piston (can't remove the tiny spring).

I'm now considering to replace the whole engine, preferred a pull-start .21/.28 3rd party one.   Any recommendation?   Is LRP Z.28 a good choice?  Or, any good one from OS?  Hope to get one with performance a bit better than KE25 and not too expensive.

For inexperience player like me, I would suggest to buy a new one.  Because there may be other part of the engine damaged but not be observed by you.

Agree, I may have scratched the cylinder by myself when 'playing around' with it....thx.

Try to try other .21/.28 engine rather than KE25 again!....but worry about any engine mount adjustment required....  Any popular engine recommendation?   I'm a just a sunday driver/basher, not a racer...

Hi wolf, which neo you driving? I just got a race spec still breaking in lei, but when I tried to pull up the engine but it didn't start rite. Have you got the same experience?
Also I checked out the diff from manual but it's not spider so not sure if you can handle the .28 without mod. Appreciate if you could share abut more on that.

Mine is Racing Spec bought last year and learned a lot on pull up engine,
- The first few tanks would not a big unstable, need to keep adjusting the needles but not sure what kind of issue you got...(didn't start rite??).
- If you can't even start it at all....especially in winter time I suggest you to user a hair blower to warm it up at home and try start it up.   I found it hard to start it at winter without warm up the engine....
- you have to prime the engine (close the exhaust exit and pull a few times, say 5 to 8, and watching some fuel/bubbles flowing the fuel tube to engine,
- prepare a few more batteries and use new one if no idea why not starting up.

lastly, if you really can't start it at all, try at home (though it's not recommended if no problem to start it the first time) with your hair blower, battery keep charging and take a break when your hands get tired....

如架車有引擎座,問題不大.
個人意見有閒錢就os,冇双糧就go.
.28只係好力d,放在buggy上速度不會快好多.必要時可加多兩齒

Just wonder how many tanks have been gone thought the KE？ sounds the engine wont last long...

Over 10 tanks, the engine should be fine just I killed it at hardcrash at high speed free spinning.
The engine should last long if not that accident crashing.   Any engine may die the same way in this case....no worry and enjoy your KE25.

Great hopefully i can get the KE start next run la

go既手拉引擎.其實只係普通料.冇乜特别.但平野之中佢最多人用既,而lrp就唔知啦.我估都係代工生產.
而買乜就睇價錢啦!lrp幾錢?

Eventually, installed GO .21R engine, cheap cheap play, and get it installed no problem, also changed to 3rd party 18T Bell, a need for speed.   Found that both GO .21R and 18T Bell are heavier than stock one..., not sure it's upgrade or downgrade in performance....Anyway, have fun fixing it, and hope have time to run-in in coming holidays.

The lrp.28 spec3 is selling 169.9usd but the .21 is selling at 370usd...

I tryed to found out the spec for your 21r but nothing about it， is it a 3 ports engine？ how much does it cost？appreciate if you can share once you broken in
Hahaa i got a cheap starter box and my engine fired up again the pull starter make me sick last time
Also are you running the stock pipe still？i feel that pipe is so quite but not sure if its good lei？

I guess it's this one just different color in air-cooler.

Stock engine KE25 be good enough, I guess you play around with it to learn the tuning skill a good move.   Btw, eventually, you may hit the starter box as the buggy already heavy enough.   Once you run-in the engine and a bit warm up before starting, you may find pull-start an easy job.

And I'm running stock pipe, no idea how good/bad it is at all.

如lrp約$1400,都唔算好貴,而比起go就快d(lrp 3.89ps/go 3.0ps)
至於買邊部就自己諗下值唔值(go在淘宝最平賣四百幾人仔)
