EVO can not.  The only way EVO can mount a 2 speed is change the rear arm to plastic "sportline version".

sportline version can mount a 2 speed???

yes, FG factory oprion.   But for sportline only....

Seeing your photos again, I still not quite get it. So we will need a 4 channel unit to operate this little thing? And need to mix the channels for steering/throttle/brake? A bit confused.

Just need 3ch
steering: use y connector to connect 2 servos, so will not have any issue of mixing not set correctly.  
Throttle + rear brake:  Use ch2 like normal nitro cars
Front brake:  Use Ch3 and mix it with throttle.  So you can adjust front and rear brake balance using the transmitter.

all touring only use 23cc.  F1 26cc.

Indeed, I am reading some more info about the EVO 08. Is that similar as your car?
How does it compare with the 4WD version?

compare the evo 08 to evo 12.  There are quite a few differents.  evo 12 the chassis, front shock tower, front shock lower mount, front upper a-arm, steering block, steering ball crank, upper deck, fuel tank, rear shock mount, rear shock tower, and rear body mount are different.  The changes lower the CG of the car, place the shock "flat" to make it more stable at highspeed corner.  And shorten the chassis (wheel base same).
