I am not upgrading this to any particular 834b version. However, the original design was very very advance for its time.
The linked rear suspension and the front 1 shock suspension was plaqued by wrong choice of material in its execution. Simply, the plastic used was far too soft for its purpose.
The assumption for such design is that, apart from the moving parts, the system and the material itself are absolutely rigid. In order for the 834B suspension to work properly, it is crucial to upgrade material in the direction of gaining maximum rigidity but at the same time maintain super smooth movements. Also, using one shock each at the front and back require a proper set of antiroll bars.
In addition, no matter what is the assumption, monoshock design is not for off-road, it is more for rough surface on-road. The idea of big rim + thin tires, which the rims+tires flex little, but require more sophisticated suspension geometry, would not be a good idea for this car. For 834B, IMHO, require thicker tires and use the consistency of the tires as a suspension 'adjustment', sort of like in the old days people use various softness of sponge tires to tune those none suspension pan cars.
