I am still learning engine run in, but here is what I understand so far: Correct me if I am wrong
Higher temperature is good for engine run in. Oil content RATIO is less in the higher % nitro fuel. Besides nitro %, oil content ratio also affects P/S compression. That's why pro racers run in their engines with the same fuel that they race with, so that the P/S expansion remains the same during run in and at race. With high % nitro fuel, needles are richen to get more lubrication in the engine. At oil rich setting, the engine will run cooler. So during run in, smaller heat sink or cardboard is used and the idle setting is set higher to attain higher temperature. |
