I don't know, but seen tamiya never re-issue metal main parts r/c car before, and heard before that the metal mould is not belong to them, don't know, sure I want they can re-issue, but re-issue the old design will be the best. plus sorry, the time past too fast, see that qd rough rider as 'new release' when in japan, but last july.....

There is one...the XR311 with metal chasis. It is over $1000 and I believe the sale was not very good. I had seen it on the shelves in the RC shops for years, before they were finally sold out.
but xr311 only made of bended metal sheet, are the process same as injection mould? don't know, just think if these is ok, rough rider and hi-lux should not same as XR311, mostly will heat.
XR311 metal parts are mostly stamped aluminium, which is rather easy to do.
Rough rider and SRBs are made of mostly cast magnesium low fusing (temperature) alloy. his involve the manufacturing of molds and casting, finishing and making those screw holes. A few more little steps.
