Turbo & non turbo

In RC engines, "turbo" is used to classify those engines equipped with heat sink available for plug in taper shape - called as turbo plug.  In general, except the plug/heat sink design, there is no major difference between turbo rc engines and ordinary rc engines.  

The air-tightness of turbo rc engines is better than ordinary engines because of its taper plug design.  U can also identified that there is no copper ring in turbo plugs.  The copper ring is for air-tigthness and control compression ratio a little bit.

Therefore, the turbo's design is only for better air-tightness.  No special difference.  No need to say turbo RC engines must be very powerful.  (Of course, nowadays, most powerful engines use turbo plug designs because of good air tighness) But turbo design could not ensure strong power.  In fact, some old RC engines made in Italy with standard plug are more powerful than some turbo RC engines available in market.  

There is habit that expressing personal idea for RC items without logical consideration in this forum.  In fact, all RC items are scientific and developed based on physic and engineering technology (100% not based on blowing water) It could be found that mainland RC players are more professional than HK.  U can see see their RC forum.  They wont blow water without ground.

Thank you very much for your detail explanation. I understand now the "Turbo"  term is not quoted for nothing or just for marketing concern.

Would you please explain more about the different between the standard crankshaft and the turbo crankshaft?? Mr....professional

Mugen MT12咪就係換咗盤頂&火咀就變turbo偈囉.

the red silicone as shown on  photo of the max crankshaft has no specific name in RC engines.  The silicone is used to streamline intake flow and the most important advantage is to increase the first compression ratio of the intake fuel/air mix ---------

the propellel cutting at the end of craftshaft is called as turbo scoop...but those turbo scoop could be found from standard engines/turbo engines...

The 1st picture is the Turbo shaft, the 2nd is EFRA legal shaft...don't you think they are no difference??.....
