幼稚級一問: 軸車, 同行皮帶, 主要分別響邊呢?

Used to be (back to 80's 90's) belt driven awd were more popular in higher grade RC cars, but lately, with high power brushless system, Shaft drive are more popular, especially for off road .. don't have to worry about bending or wearing the belt too .. similar to the diff, rarely see ball diff in off road car now, especially 1/8. Shaft drive is also lower maintenance ... less worry about dust ..

I am still old school, prefer belt drive for on road, shaft for off road ..

Back to 樓主 question, what type of shaft drive car he is looking for ?

Thank you 965 Ching! I m looking for shaft drive 1/10... Kinda like rally ... Xv01 chassis is using belt drive and belt cover to prevent dust and sand. But I prefer shaft drive more  then I think of TT01.  Its short dampers aren't suitable for off-road race. I m thinking is it possible to modify a long damper on it by myself! If that's too silly to do it I would just buy a XV01 and keep worrying the belt drive problem when I go play off-road race.

I bought few Kyosho lately, their DRX ve is actually pretty good! Great power and control with 3s, very good updated 2400kv 4 pole motor, tons of power, but cool running, and long run time, with 3s, and stock gearing, ~ 75km/hr to 80km/hr, and still easy to control.

It is a "odd" 1/9 scale, which is quite a bit bigger then TT01 or Fazer, basically same size as 1/8 (slightly bigger then the HPI 1/8 rally)

Since you are interested in "Rally" and "longer damper", I assume you will do some jumping or driving on sand/grass etc, so bigger size and longer wheelbase will be better.

It is still a lot smaller then the Kyosho 1/8 GT series, (Inferno Audi R8) and somehow, smaller then Traxxas and Losi 1/10 Rally, but I guess American brands always love "BIGGER" ..

Not to sure about pricing in HK, but cost less or about the same as VX01 (kit) + motor/servo/esc/basic remote here ..

其實好多人改 TT-01 做 Rally，亦唔難改，可以參考下呢位師兄嘅 post.....

If OP like Tamiya, how about DF03?  I have DF03 Rally (Mit) and TT01 Rally (Sti) they both stock, and not really heavy duty Rally, but seems like the DF03 suit Rally style more ...

The problem I see for DF03 is it is ball diff. Playing with white pig maybe fine, but once upgraded to BL motor.... cannot imagine how fast the ball diff. will get blown.

Kyosho DRX VE seems tougher than DF03! HPI 1/8 rally is pretty cool too!
I think it's time for the price comparison!
I don't really need transmitter and receiver. Buying RTR seems to be useless with extra Tx and Rx.

DRX is really tough... Pretty close to 1/8, basically Short Course Truck chassis! Bodies are sexy! I just like and trust the Kyosho brand... About the same price as Traxxas Rally here... RTR.. (App. $3000 HKD.)  should be cheaper in HK.

I like Kyosho too but parts availability in HK does not encourage people to play Kyosho here.

粗玩的話tt02，本身可以調軸距，車高，又有個接收盒仔防下，車架比tt01改良好左

我反而覺tt01比02好好多。純感覺。

Oh...that is weird, Kyosho is big big brand... I think Japanese brands are popular in HK? I saw quite some Kyosho in HK shops....

As grown up in HK, Kyosho is always good brand to me, a bit 情意結 ... But in Canada, Traxxas is the only brand selling here... Yes, Traxxas are cheap, but not Kyosho's standard as 20 yr ago...

How about Fazer series? Their Subaru, Ferrai and Audi bodies are damn sexy, with 'OK' waterproof brushless system as well, matel shocks, gear diff, all adjustable camber tie rod etc... Big surprise to me! And even cheaper then many Tamiya ... (In USA... I orderd from US)
