Brushless! I am using a mamba 6800, but I think an AON or Hyperion or Feigao 400 would be better. I still need to gear mine way lower because it was overheating the mamba25. Other than that, I suggest doing this mod: Boil the front and rear diff gears. To do this, boil a pot of water, then pour it into a separate container. Drop the gears inside for aorund 30 minutes. Take them out, lube them up and put them back into the truck.
I personally have not try this because I don't even have time to touch my RC's right now! But I read that this method help moisten up the gears so they are not as brittle. I read one person did this to only his front gears and not the rear. After a couple of runs, the rear diffs were stripped, but not the front. Maybe coincidence? But if/when I have time, I will take apart the MLST and try this mod for sure. This mod should be a must if you plan to run brushless in it.
