The day has finally come.....

Hi all, I want to share a story of myself.....

The year was 1984.  I was 8 years old at that time.  My father was a merchant working in a office in Dudas Street (next to KWS).  Since he is such a hard working person, once a while he would go to the office on Sunday mornings and he always bring me along.  He had a car, (if I remember right it was a Silver Volvo 244...).  and of course, s a kid, I was sitting at the back seat looking out the window.....

Like all kids, I was wondering around and look for anything that's attractive to me.  And everytime we drove by Yao Ma Day Cinema, there was a model shop next to it.  One year, I notice that shop has a poster up front and that was the moment I immidate fall in love with that poster.  It was a white Jeep (I didn't know what model it was..)  I asked my father to get it for me but.... NO!  He wouldn't let me.  It was too expensive at that time...  I cried a couple times but of course --- helpless.....  So I gave up.

BUT!  A week ago, I found my old friend!  After all these years!  The dream of the dream.  With the help of Ebay US, I finally locate this piece of art.  And the best part is, IT'S NIB!!!!  Just as it came out in 1984.  She is in Sunshine State California!  And now, I am 30.  I can finally get a chance to own it by myself!  And ladies and gentleman, 1984 Tamiya Mitsubishi Pajero!  NIB!  Has finally fall into my hand!  Enjoy the photos!

karhey, u won't see the finished model, at least in the near future. This lucky guy's gonna keep his baby NIB!

Well, don't be so sure about that....  I just need someone who's expert on paint and finish the body for me cuz honestly my paint skills aren't that good.....  But stay put!

in those years......i also have a story about this parjero.....the story also started at the shop in yau ma tei.....

in 198x, my uncle,my cousin & i visited the shop in yau ma tei u mentioned b4.......my cousin and i were sticked to the display window to see this parjero........then......my uncle bought it.......i remember it costed HK$190........my uncle is used to be a RC fans....he said the parjero is bought for himself.....but we (my cousin and i) could join the assembly process.......though it's not ours.....we were also extremely happy!!!!
my uncle painted it in pink and made things all ready.....then he put it on the shelf for over two to three weeks.....didn't play it...
as a child...my cousin and i really wanted to play it but.........no way....it's not ours!!!!!
a bit later...one friday my cousin called me.....asked me to join him.....to play the parjero in the coming sunday!!!!
my uncle is so kind that he just wait for the day ,his son (my cousin) is good & smart enough to take over this gift(even though i dun no why!!??)....my cousin and i had a very good holiday with this jeep!!it's so great!! it could run in wheelie.....it's fun!!!
the story is not yet ended.....
around 13-14 years ago.....my cousin met this parjero again.....deadstock NIB........he bought it at once.....continue the childish dream.......
as i know...that parjero was still in his house even it's not very good in condition......
he said he wanna give it to me for rebuild and let me keep it for a longer time.......
so.....i'm planning to get the parts for it....

Well, thanks so much for all your comments.  I really appreciate that.  I am sure everyone has some sort of story to tell about their dream/first R/C.  And that's what this page is about, SHARING HAPPYNESS!  Wish everyone would find their treasure of their life and keep them forever..... (Sounds like getting a wife...)
I promise I am going to build this and actually PLAY IT!!  (Well, in a extremely careful way of course...) and will keep you all posted!

I have a question for the paint experts, should I paint the cover in white first before I add the decals?  How do you avoid it to turn yellow after displaying?  I was thinking to paint the cover in white, then add the decals, and then paint with clear coat.  Is that the best way for this cover?  Please advise!
