罕見的 kyosho lumina

I brought it from 車房仔

But cannot find any information in internet and can only find very very little parts from eBay.

Wanna to find the manual of this rc car.

I played Kyosho car since optima era, but dunno what it is.

Please advice.

I will change some electronics stuffs and play on street next week. I only like 1/10 buggy with spongy tyre. Funny.

I think that car you bought is a "hybrid" version......actually the Kyosho Slingshot Lumina is originally an on-road car with a touring shell (the size is just like the GP10).......the previous owner replaced with the Lazer ZX shock towers ...... add the Yokomo YZ10 shell & rear wing on it.......

I have checked more information of this RC Car. It is KYOSHO CHEVROLET LUMINA.

See some photos of the original looking of this chassis. Moreover, the original body (250mm) is also available in eBay (also with photos).
I may bid for it ;)

Minimini 兄, you are right, the shock tower is also changed. But the shock is Slingshot type which is shorter than the Lazer one.

Minimini 兄, you are right again, the body is Yokomo YZ10.

It is very funny to play those vintage rc cars. Once I re-assembly it into original looking, will send more photos to all of you to have a look.

release year is about 1991.
Its originally designed for oval race, (race in a oval track).
So, its not very suitable for regular racing track.
But I'm very appreciate the DIY works.

The Chevy Lumina was a dirt oval racer, which is why the motor and nicads are on the left side of the chassis and there is also plenty of ground clearance. There are plenty of slots in the chassis to arrange the batteries for oval racing and slots on the other side to balance the chassis for circuit use. The suspension is straight off the Optima range, apart from the laydown shock mounts. Its designed to handle a lot more power than the buggies as both belts are 6mm wide with adjustable belt tension. The front end has a gear diff but unusually the rear end has a solid spool to put the power down on the dirt tracks.

from the point that batteries + motor are on the left hand side of the car, I suppose the oval race should be in anti clockwise direction. Pls correct me if I am wrong. Oval race seems over of date. only heard of this in the mid 90's. Is it still popular in usa ?

rk2兄, you are right, the Dirt Oval Racing is Anti-clockwise on an Oval track.

I will run this Lumina on street with different position of the battery and tyres to test its handling properties.

It looks funny and interesting among all of my RC vintage collections

Tonight I have a trail run for this Vintage.

Amazingly, it is so fast!!!

Will re-allocate the battery, ESC and receiver to make it more balance setting.
