Another XC Restoration Project (MU)

Talked to an expert last night, this thing must have been sitting under the sun so long and it got melted....  sigh.......  didn't have time to do anything last night... sorry!

Ok.... sorry about the delay people....  My lovely maid has started the "operation" on the shell.....  and she said this shell is easier to work with than the Pajero but as she starting to strip off the paint, and she notice there has been a few colors painted on this shell before including purple, green and black!  
But it's nice to see a black shell to become like this.....  I really thank her for all these hard work!!!  

Brother mike, i have a crazy idea for the melted chassis, why don't you try heating up the whole chassis again and once its become maluable in the heat, just bend it to how you want it to be but good job so far with the shell! good luck

No la..............  I already got replacement chassis..... the original should be at the dump fields by now......

I bought it as it is.....  the last owner have no idea but according to an expert who saw it, he said probility it has been setting under the sun too long.....  and notice the tires are the same way, all dried up and cracked...

Ok people.. here is some of the updates on the MU....
The chassis is done....  The wheels were .....  well, it got damaged when I was trying to clean the left over "junk" off and non restorable.....  So I put the lowering kit on this MU instead of original plan was on the Pajero....  
And now the cover.... It's clean.... in fact the color is easier to take  off then the red pajero before...  but now the hole fillings is a "bixch".......  Also the rear glass is useless so I need to find either a replacement (which is almost impossible) or do something else with it...  still thinking......

lowrider pickup MU la! it's the way the go...

If I were u, I would cut a piece of leather to make another soft top to replace the rear window. build a roll cage to support the soft top. just a suggestion.

Yes yes yes...  in fact, this is exactly what I have in mind..... need to go get some canvas material........

u may find the rear window parts from ebay....i've seen it in ebay uk b4.......

Yes... I have need constantly looking on Ebay US, UK and Tamiya Club..... so far I had one chance but it was sold before I can make my offer.....  
I also would like a set of original offroad wheels instead of using the lowering kit wheels.....

for the tyres ......u may find in KWS......but for the rims....those u 've got are too bad to restore ma????last time u said u wanna take the chrome off and spray them again.....it's doesn't work?????

the tyres... are the "goodyear" type not those from pajero MTW, i think they re much harder to source.

yes ar...we tend to pay attention to those useless details and make the restoration more difficult

Well.... about the original wheels... I used hot water, which the "crap" didn't come off but instead bent the rim of the wheel....
Then I use nail polish to take the chrome off, there were finger prints all over the rim becasue I squeeze them too hard so the wheels are ------- Failure......
