The space between the CVD (the dogbone shaped shaft) and the outer joint of your differential is considered normal. When driving, the knuckles are moving up and down, while the differential is spinning the pins on the CVD to drive them forward, it is probably good that the only touching parts between the the diff and CVD are the pins on CVD.(otherwise there will be a lot of friction caused)
For wheel spacing/slack, usually most people are referring to the space between the wheel and the knuckle. Some proper spacing is necessary, orelse the wheel will be pinned on the knuckle/bearing by the nut. But if there are a few mm of movements, then you are definitely having too much slack. |
