search 過舊文，好多人都問過xray 009 gear ratio，set up book 有chart 提過同都睇過，個chart 提到最細 recommand既 48Pitch 係80 tooth，64 pitch 係110 pitch，唔知大家用到 / 用緊最細 / 最大既spur gear 係幾多，同大家用緊原裝齒定speed mind?

Gear ratio depends on your motor and the track you are running on.

我用過原裝及Speedmind. 原裝比較快損耗,但Speedmind比較責.

大減牙64PITCH 最細可以用104
         48PITCH 最細可以用78

From XRAY forum, one of the team drivers has stated the formula for chosing the range of the spur-pinon gears. It's (48 pitch) from 101 to 112. That means the sum of spur gear + pinion gear should be within 101 to 112. I'm running 8.5T with the final gear ratio of 5.10. My spur gear is 78 while the pinion is 27. The sum of spur and pinion = 78 + 27 = 105 which is within 101 - 112.

I hope the formula is helpful for you to work out the combinations of spur and pinon gears for your desired final gear ratio. Hope is helpful.

Wow! 8.5T with 5.1! Isn't it too aggressive?  Which track you run?

There is a mistake! I mixed up with the no. of "T". Better to say I'm running 4000kv with 4.91 - 5.10 as FDR. I think it makes sense better in this way. I did run LRP x11 Stock Spec 8.5T (4700kv) with 5.44 - 5.67 as FDR.

Fully understand the gear ratio it depands on track size / driving style or some un-certain factor, so i'm not asking something no definitely answer.

我今日試過用speedmind spur gear (已經手磨左塊)，但有一個問題因speedmind齒厚身左原裝個三粒鑼絲唔夠長，用3 x 4mm又長左小小，"修"到過左個adaptor小小頂到隻20T膠牙，變得有小小"kick"住，唔知師兄可唔可以影下你架車個spur gear個度點整？ Thanks!

Thanks Bro. the formula is helpful, now need to decide the smaller spur gear can use on T2 009 first (i'm running 11.5T), the motor i try arround 5.1 on Pro4, but still slow and not powerful enough (compare with other's running 11.5T on same track)。

用平頭SCREW 就可以...

To answer your question, I've tried usig 76-tooth 48 pitch spur gear on my XRAY. Mine is 008 and it should be very similar to your 009. The fact is if you are already running 5.1 for your 11.5T, have you ever checked the motor temp after running for 5 minutes? I've been using Team Powers 4000kv, running for 8 minutes with the above mentioned FDR (4.p1 - 5.10), the motor temp is about 64 - 68 deg (if I'm extremely hard and rough on my car, I can get up to 70 deg). Hope the info is helpful to you.

I do use SpeedMind and haven't needed to do any modification to the spur gear. I will switch to M3 x 6 flathead screws and left the adaptor not in use. I can post you some photos this evening if you need them.

我都係用緊hex 圓頭，um..........你講平頭鑼絲，你係咪講緊上底板有斜位("bearbar")個隻？

試左真係ok喎，用卡尺度過D 3x4mm謂圓頭實際條長過4mm，but 平頭係4mm到，but thank you!

Thank you for your details info, i think the info. is helping other's player too.
I didn't check the temp after running (cause i don't have thermometer, and should get 1 very soon), as i said last run my 11.5T with pro4 @5.1, the car has reach the top speed in the middle of forthright, and a little slowing down after, is that strange? but anyway i prepare all i need on my 009 and try to found the best setting with 11.5T on next run..

If u don't mind would u like to take some pics on the speedmind spurgear set? with the flathead screw.

"Slowing down" is a strange description to me!! Do you mean your car is not having much acceleration or is not further picking up speed from the mid of the straight to the first corner down the straight? May I ask where do you run your car most of the time? At TC, TRC or PYC?

i use xray spur gear because of not expensive($2x) and durable.
the max spur gear size may be 48pitch-87T, 64pitch-118T

so i use xray spur gear to my 007/008 only because of without modify, quite durable and not expensive.
