New ESC on my M03.

I thought I'd try something different, this is meant for airplanes but works fine on a mini … only one problem, when you back off the throttle the brake engages … so just don't back off
The ESC is a Rondo 600 Pro 30A made by Kontronik. It solders directly to the motor tabs, so there is only wires for the battery, no switch or setup buttons either.

is the brake strong? how about putting a larger cap. to compromise the brake?

Yes, the brake is strong. If I adapt my driving style, not back off 100% for slow corners, but back off 50%, then the brake doesn't engage.

I haven't tried using a cap at all, do you think it would help?


I like the design of this ESC, light weight, direct solder, looks cool.

I don't like that it's harder to maintain, difficult to oil the bushing or change motors, and it's very near to the alloy knuckle so could be damaged easily.

I don't use this on my race mini, it's on my spare mini :-)
