2012年南加州Reedy International Race of Champions
由車壇元老級人马, Reedy 創始人 MikeReedy 發起的
“ Reedy International Race of Champions” 在 Mike Reedy 過身後, 第一次回歸南加州舉行. 被譽為僅次於世界賽的賽事.
Reedyrace 最特別的地方在於分開為邀請組及公開組. 邀請組顧名思義邀請了30位世界一流選手 (包括美国 Ryan Maifield (全美冠軍), RyanCavalieri (2011 双料世界冠軍), Jared Tebo(前世界冠軍, 全美冠軍), Mike Truhe (前全美冠軍),Dustin Evans(2011 全美冠軍), 日本原篤志 (前世界冠軍), Hayato Matsuzaki (前世界冠軍), 英国 Lee Martin(全歐冠軍), 德国 Jorn Neumann (全歐冠軍). 簡單而言: 粒粒皆星. 此外每年的公開組冠軍亦有望於來年升上邀請組. 由於今年是 Mike 過身後首次舉辦, 所以賽事顯得更有意義.
ReedyRace 另外最引人談論的, 就是其邀請組的比賽模式. 所有邀請組的賽員都会跑 6次 2WD 後驅及 6次4WD 四驅. 每位賽員容許在 2WD 及 4WD 跑得最差的一場減免. 此外, 6組的賽員分組都不一樣, 大前提是每位賽員都有相互交手的机会. 賽員若在分組得第一得一分,第二得二分如此類推, 最後把 2WD 及 4WD 分數相加, 分數最小的就是 Reedy Race 的冠軍.

It quickly became clear that Neumann wasdestined for victory shortly after the tone sounded. For three and a halfminutes, Neumann pushed Maifield around the track relentlessly. At one point,Jorn even got into Maifield and spun him out. But Jorn showed excellentsportsmanship and immediately pulled over to let Maifield regain the leadbefore he could be penalized. Not long after, Jorn overtook Maifield andproceeded to walk away with the win- putting his mark on the Reedy HeritageTrophy, and going down in history as the first European winner of the Reedy Race.

What Jorn accomplished this weekend ispretty special, if you think about it. He came from Europe to SouthernCalifornia- the backyard of nearly every top American pro driver- and whoopedeveryone. He did it with a type of car many people still aren’t quite sureabout, and he did it on a surface that doesn’t exist in Germany. He had noextensive test sessions. He had no setups. He had no chance against Cavalieriat his home track. But today, he proved everyone who doubted the Americanscould be beat wrong. He proved everyone who said the Durango car was no goodwrong. And he proved that the Reedy International Race of Champions is the mostentertaining race on the planet.
