hello i have few questions.
1 short course 1/10 size is same as 1/8 buggy suppose to use 1/8 esc motor or 1/10?

2 can i use the 1/8 buggy power on the sc10 4x4 the kv is around 2000, but i see most sct motors are 4000 kv?

3 the car is 2 cell power i feel like not enough power.

4 for the hobby wing 150a rx8 ix8 is it okay to use 2 cell?

5  i bought the lrp ix8 with 2200kv combo can i use it on the car?

ae ballcups are very hard....

1. Best to use sc esc motor combos, e.g. hobbywing sct-pro

2. Bcos sct motors are 7.4v

3. No, there are 4-pole sct motors, which are very powerful, but you'll need good lipo

4. I suggest to use sct-pro for esc, rx8 is ok for 2-cell, 150a or ix8 not too sure...

5. Not sure if the 1:8 motor can fit on the sc10 4x4...

1. You can choose between 1/8 and 1/10 ESCs, but with 1/10 ESCs, the gearing and setting must be very careful.

2. Seems 1/8 motor is too long for SC10 4x4, the around 2000kV motor for 1/8 will only provide "normal" speed when using 4S LiPo. Also seems it is hard to fit 4S LiPo to most Short Course Trrucks in the market, except SC8e.

3. As mentioned before, you have to using higher kV motor to have sensible speed when you are using lower voltage input.

4. All ok, but sometimes you may experience BEC problem when using 7.4V with Hobbywing 150A.

5. 1/8 motor seems not fit SC10 4x4, if you use iX8, I suggest LRP X12L 4.5T

It will be very slow and high chance of overheating for normal 540 motors, X12L is 550 motor

I think not bad, but you may need a Tekin or Hobbywing ESC, LRP seems has false temp cut problem when not running with LRP motors

You can use 1/8 esc, but there is limited space for sc10 4x4, RX8 or Mamba pro those smaller size 1/8 esc will fit, but something like mamba monster or hobbywing 150A may not fit well.

For motor, again, with limited space, SC10 4x4 won't take 40or 42mm 1/8 motor, but 36 mm 540 or 550, I guess 65mm length max. The reason why most people use 4000kv is for race with 2s, if you set your SC10 4x4 to fit 3s battery, (straight pack battery fitment) you can run some 3000kv range motor too.

For running 2s, hobbywing 120a esc is good and small (can run 3s too) but you may need bec if you run high power servo, I hv no experience with rx8 on 2s, I guess it is ok, if you like tekin, you can choose RS pro instead of rx8, with size advantage.
