RC10 Refurbishment

After seeing Bro Frankie played his vintage RC10 at TKO, I bid it from ebay. The shell is so ugly and needs to be refurbished.

What material u used to wash away the old color?

As you can see from the picture, I used the brake fuild ($41, 0.5L from Caltex). It is  water soluble so that you can use water to remove the residual brake fuild form the body. I used around 0.25L to remove all the paint out. You can do it by just soaking the brake fuild into a unused colth or "fish tank filter cotton" and put on the paint for 15-20min, then use unused colth to rub the paint out. Of couse, you have to use Mr. Thinner to remove the residual color.

Bro minimini, your eyes are so 'sharp'.

Yes, the servo saver is not the original because we (Frankie and I) didn't regonised from the photos when placed the bid at ebay. Bro Frankie had helped me to bid the original servo saver from ebay again.  The servo saver that you saw in the photos is modified from Futaba servo horns.

Yes. This one is stealth gear box. I bid another one with 6 gear box which is on the way to Hong Kong.

BTW, I am looking for the motor pinion gear for the 6 six gear box. Do you know where I can find it or what pitch it should be ? Can I use the Tamiya one ?

I think the pinion gear should be 32 pitch.........
