My DF03 virgin run was testing on the wet grass, the performance seems better than my expected, the steering & acceleration were not too bad by the original damper + Tamiya BZ motor.
The material of the shock towers are fairly soft, better change it to the graphite one to increase the stability.
After 18mins runtime, the motor was damn hot, and 68 degrees hot was measured on the heatsink.
I think motor cooling is the major question on DF03, I may add a little fan in front of the heatsink, and open few holes on the bodyshell for air cooling.
Tamiya BZ motor has attached the sponge cover to protect sand and dust, it is really good little parts for off-road car which motor is located outside the chassis.
Also the TRF damper, spring set, roll bar and turnbuckle shaft set should be the great functional hop-up parts, I'm thinking about it!!
Here is my boring DF03 road test video and few photos..
(TRF bodyshell but no TRF hop-up parts )
