Piston will melt or fail cox or brown headgasket of lack of lubrication from too lean AFR and lead to too hot inside the cambustion chamber, even lambda still able to melt the piston, or knock on high rpm (remember: on turbo car). Or even some knock occur on NA car in high rpm.
Back to the point of TDC, the knock occurs by pre-ignite the air fuel mixture itself when piston travel toward to TOP DEAD CENTER (SO CALL TDC, the highest point that piston travel, the hishest compression position). Thats what you need the high volume fuel pump, hi-flow injector and retard the mid-high rpm ignition timing to compensate the heat produce from higher turbo boost
